Architectural film-faced plywood has significant advantages in waterproofing.

Modern construction projects are becoming increasingly numerous, and each completed building involves the use of numerous architectural formwork panels, which play a crucial “bridging” role throughout the construction process. The primary characteristics of Guangxi-formwork panels are their light weight and ease of installation. As they are made from wood, they are highly versatile and can be easily reprocessed—whether drilling, nailing, or sawing, all tasks can be accomplished with remarkable ease—and their cost is relatively low as well. Thanks to a resin film coating on their surface, these panels exhibit outstanding waterproof performance, eliminating concerns about rust or contamination. Moreover, their thermal insulation properties are also reliably maintained. In particular, compared to steel formwork, which is much heavier and more labor-intensive to install yet offers extremely high strength, architectural formwork panels make construction significantly easier and more efficient. Architectural formwork panels are manufactured by applying a coating layer onto aluminum alloy substrates. When used in furniture production, they display exceptional wear resistance, thanks to their protective surface layer that ensures they remain virtually new even after prolonged use. As we all know, the high-gloss film coating on the surface of these panels is remarkably stable; the underlying aluminum alloy substrate is effectively shielded from exposure to air and moisture, making it highly resistant to rusting. Consequently, furniture made from these panels can be safely placed in highly humid environments such as bathrooms. If small steel formwork components are not assembled according to specifications, it can lead to overall instability and deformation of the entire formwork system. Similarly, inadequate initial waterproofing during construction, foundation settlement, or lateral tilting—all of which may result from unstable foundations—can also cause formwork deformation. Furthermore, during construction operations, rushing to meet deadlines and pouring concrete for walls and columns too quickly without allowing sufficient time for proper setting, excessive pouring heights, or over-speed vibration during compaction can all contribute to formwork deformation. Architectural formwork panel manufacturers adopt a modular design with complete and widely compatible specifications, whereas steel formwork often comes in incomplete sizes, requiring lengthy customization and directly impacting project schedules. Architectural formwork panels are lightweight, making them easy and safe to handle and transport; in contrast, steel formwork is extremely heavy, necessitating the use of cranes and other heavy equipment for both installation and removal. Architectural formwork panels can be cut, nailed, and combined with other types of formwork systems. Notably, their ability to enable integrated beam-and-column casting provides customers with a significant boost in construction efficiency and helps shorten project timelines. Compared to traditional steel formwork, corrugated pipe formwork, and fiberglass formwork, architectural formwork panels also boast superior toughness and wear resistance, and when used properly, they can be reused more than ten times. These panels also exhibit excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, moisture, and corrosion, allowing them to be used reliably over a wide temperature range—from -20°C to 60°C—making them especially suitable for underground and damp environments. The important role of paint films for architectural wood formwork

What are the important roles of paint films for architectural wood formwork? Let’s find out together with Guangxi Baimulin Wood Industry Co., Ltd. In construction projects, most construction formworks are stored outdoors, making it a significant challenge to protect wooden formworks from corrosion. Template paints, however, boast excellent anti-corrosion and anti-rust properties. Thanks to the isolating effect of the paint film, architectural formworks are shielded from abrasion caused by concrete aggregates and sand, as well as from corrosion induced by cement hydration products. This effectively boosts the reusability of formworks, thereby extending their service life. The paint film of template paint features a bright, full, and smooth surface with excellent glossiness, naturally forming a porcelain-like glaze that effectively fills in surface imperfections of architectural formworks. The thermal decomposition temperature of the template paint film reaches approximately 350℃, and it exhibits outstanding resistance to heat and alkalis—making it highly suitable for the operating environment of construction formworks. The primary material of coated formwork boards is wood; if properly used and stored, they can achieve high utilization rates, saving construction project developers substantial costs.
